Recycle Today for Every Tomorrow
The Indian River County Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD) and Keep Indian River Beautiful (KIRB) are sponsoring one of the Mental Health Association's Turtle Trax turtles. Her name is Recycling Rosie and she had her preview at Sebastian Elementary. The children at Sebastian Elementary need your financial help as they would like to adopt Recycling Rosie next April when all the Turtle Trax turtles are auctioned. The reason they want to adopt her is because their mascot is a Sea Turtle and they are taught to practice their ABC's. Act safely, Be responsible, Care for self, others and the environment. Sebastian Elementary has achieved "Model School" designation for the second year in a row. Recycling Rosie embodies the ABC's because she is decorated with recyclables and recycled items. Her artist Chantai Snellgrove, has a child that participates in the Mental Health Associations programs and developed Recycling Rosie's concept as a way to teach all of us that beautiful things happen when you recycle. Recycling Rosie is not just a beautiful Turtle Trax Sea Turtle, she has a great story to tell. To donate, please contact Sebastian Elementary at (772) 978-8200.
